United Kingdom & Ireland Private and Small Group Walking Tours

Famed for their music, theater, literature and sport, these small island nations have had an outsize influence on the world
Situated off the coast of western Europe, the United Kingdom’s four countries—England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland—and the Republic of Ireland have long stood apart from the European mainland, defined by the mingling of their native Celts and Anglo-Saxons with visitors like the Norse, Romans, and Normans.

These unique dynamics are reflected in the UK and Ireland, which all bear distinct customs and traditions but also share a long history of cultural innovation—ranging from illuminated manuscripts to Shakespeare to soccer—not to mention a lively and welcoming pub culture.

Lawrence was the perfect guide for my 10 year old son and me during our recent tour at the British Museum. He was a combination of insightful and deeply knowledgeable, while also being consistently interactive and entertaining. His irreverent humor and engaging storytelling even made the toughest critic, a 10 year old boy, pay attention and actively participate.
An exceptionally interesting guide, knowledgeable and engaging. Altogether a most enjoyable guided tour of Dublin!
Peter was a fantastic guide- keeping things informative and entertaining. He was able to go deep into our questions about history, always sharing the context. He also had a lot of knowledge about modern day London and could even answer our obscure questions about property laws! I’d really recommend Context to anyone who is interested in going below the surface.
