A firm favourite from previous Lions Tours, our popular Gullivers Lions Clubhouse Events are back again in Australia. These are included in your package where highlighted in the itinerary. Previous events include sit down Q and A’s, lively pub events with live music, wine tastings and local rugby club events. With a great atmosphere and true rugby camaraderie, these included events are sure to be highlights of your trip. As always there will be opportunities to hear from Lions Legends, previous guests include Gavin Hastings, Ben Kay, Scott Gibbs, Richard Hill, Scott Quinnell, Martyn Williams and many more. A major highlight of touring with Gullivers is the opportunity to see Ex Lions legends at our events. After the major success of NZ 2017 we are excited to unveil our travelling Lions Ambassadors for Australia shortly. Make your own way to the airport, check in/drop your bags off and make your way through customs. Once through customs make your way to the gate to board your indirect flight to Australia.

Upon arrival into Brisbane, after clearing customs and immigration, your Tour Manager will meet you in the airport to transfer the group to your hotel to check in for 4 nights on a bed and breakfast basis. The city will be awash with a sea of red & yellow shirts in anticipation of the 1st Test vs the Wallabies. The drive in from the airport is only a short one at approximately 25-30 minutes.
This evening the group will get together with the Tour Manager for Welcome Drinks. Get to know your tour group and tour manager, reminisce on past tours and trips and share the excitement of the magic of The British & Irish Lions Tour ahead.
Meet with your Tour Manager, Gullivers Lions Ambassador and the rest of your group and enjoy a drink together. It's a great chance to get to know each other and have a relaxed start to the tour.
Today Gullivers Sports Travel host the first of our exclusive Gullivers Lions Clubhouse events. A firm favourite on previous Lions Tours, our events have included sit down Q&A's with former players, local rugby club events where we have immersed with the local rugby community and pub days with live music, food and drink. A great atmosphere with great camaraderie to build the excitement ahead of the first Test is the order of the day here. Check out of your Brisbane hotel this morning and head with the group to the airport for your flight to Melbourne for the Melbourne Rebels pre-Test match and the much anticipated 2nd Test. Upon arrival, transfer with the group to the hotel to check in for a 6 night stay on a bed and breakfast basis.
This sports-mad city is the perfect destination for the next 2 fixtures on this tour and is the Australian mecca for all things trendy and tasty.
The final pre-Test match of the tour sees The British & Irish Lions take on the Melbourne Pre-Test (TBC) at the Marvel Stadium. Expect new Head Coach Andy Farrell to make some changes for this one and provide the opportunity for some of the less-experienced players to compete for their place to play on the main-stage.
Melbourne has a wonderful public transport system for getting to/from the game as well as the stadium being comfortably walkable from most of the city.

Our first stop is the Killara Estate for our first wine tasting of the day. Learn more about wine production in this region and sample a selection of the varieties produced here. The winery claims to have one of the most spectacular views across the Yarra Valley at the base of the dramatic Christmas Hills. Our final stop of the day is Morgans winery and Distillery. The self-titled ‘Old School’ vineyard still operates mostly by hand, using traditional methods from hand bottling and labelling, to foot-stomping the grapes. Morgans distillery is one of only two whey spirit producers in Australia, a method world-renowned for producing incredible smooth spirit. For those gin-lovers amongst us there’s time for a tasting here in the private gin bar. At the end of your Yarra Valley wine and food tour, transfer back to your hotel.
